The Estate
Property of "SCEA Auguste Bonhomme" for 6 generations, this beautiful estate of 12 hectares is located in the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellations, on Gorges commune, at the East of the Sèvre Nantaise river. The property is divided into two patches which produce very complementary wines thanks to their soil components, the age of the wine plant and above all due to the very good exposure.
Vinification
Mechanically harvested since more than 20 years now, grapes are immediately pressed thanks to a pneumatic press respecting then the quality of the harvest. The juice is let to rest and settle in a colding process during 12 to 18 hours depending on the vintage. It is then stored into a stainless tank and yeast is added in order to launch fermentation which occurs during an average of 13 to 17 days under temperature controls to avoid any oxydation or fermentation stops due to a rise in temperature. Once fermentation is finished, the wine is let on its ‘lies’ of vinification until the month of April following the harvest. We can start bottling at the estate.
