The Chateau
The second wine of Chateau Carbonnieux. Château Tour Léognan was originally an estate bordering on Château Carbonnieux. When Marc Perrin acquired the two properties in 1956 and began a program of replanting the vineyard, Tour léognan became the second wine of Carbonnieux. It is produced from an assemblage of wines from vines younger than 15 years of age. The wine is made with the guidance of Pr Dubourdieu, and its vinification and aging are done with the same care and know-how as its big brother . It is a second wine treated like a grand cru. The red wine of Château Tour Léognan is round, fruity and lightly oaked, making it easily approachable when young. Moreover, it is marked by the mineral notes and smoky character which is so appreciated in wines from Léognan.
