The Chateau

Constituted at the beginning of the 19th century, château Phélan‐Ségur is the work of a remarkable winegrower, an entrepreneur in the modern sense of the word, Monsieur Phelan, an Irishman who settled in Saint‐ Estèphe. This growth, one of the biggest in Médoc, was created by merging the two estates of Clos de Garamey and Château Ségur, which belonged to the Count of Ségur known as the  ʺprince of the vinesʺ. The château, which everyone recognizes as an exceptional model of its kind, came into being through the will of one man who conceived the idea of combining in a single architecturally homogeneous unit the highly distinguished residence, winemaking buildings, storerooms and cellars, all completely integrated.

The wines of Phélan‐Ségur are vinified and prepared with great respect for the terroir. This brings them breeding, finesse and balance, typical of a great Saint‐Estèphe. Among the most reputed of the appellation, the wines of château Phélan‐Ségur are sold throughout the world.
