The Chateau
Mendelssohn was a famous composer and his nephew, Robert, became the owner of the chateau in 1905. Michel is the name of one of the 20 plots at the estate and also the name of Martial Michel, a glove manufacturer, who owned it from 1923 to 1938. Lurton is the name of the famous family of winemakers who largely owe their fame to Lucien Lurton, owner from 1981 to 1992. At the age of 33, Denis Lurton, Lucien’s son, took over the running of Desmirail.
